The Region
This area consists mainly of farm and woodland with small villages scattered around. There are chateaux, bastides, caves and museums to visit. The Canal du Midi, the Garonne and the Lot are the big rivers on which you can take boat trips or go canoeing.
One of the nicest nearby markets is the Saturday morning one in Montaigu de Quercy (15 minutes) away. The towns Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot are both about 25 minutes away and are worth a visit.
The big shopping centers (hypermarchés) are on the outskirts of these towns and are well indicated. The ancient town of Moissac (Tarn-et-Garonne) is a bit further (30 minutes) and has a lovely weekend market and a beautiful monastery. For those who wish to visit a real southern city, Toulouse is the place to go. About 1 hour 30 minute's drive will bring you to this fabulous city. Due to the many universities and the fact that a lot of the European space development takes place here, the people in this city are young and energetic but with the relaxed attitude of the South.

When you have children you will probably agree that a succesful holiday is one during which the children have fun also when the parents are just sitting in the sun. Our campsite offers just that. However a day may come when they have just had enough of swimming and playing and it may then be nice to visit Walibi amusement park, located on the other side of Agen (30 minutes.)
Food is a very important aspect of daily life here. Many people earn their living dealing with food. The foie gras, Armagnac, wine, Blonde d'Aquitaine cows, garlic, prunes, cherries, etc. are all raised and grown here. As a result the restaurants cannot serve just anything.
Practically all restaurants, even the smallest one in the smallest village serves very high quality food at a very reasonable price. So on your next visit to this region please try the cèpes or the maigret de canard or the foie gras and take a small Armagnac with your coffee. We hope you like it!
